Scholarship
HM scholarships for courses are for those who show great potential and dedication to wilderness safety, but would be unable to attend without financial aid. In particular, targeted towards outdoor professionals.
Scholarships are made possible by the kindness of friends of Himalayan Medics who want to contribute to promoting the importance of improving safety standards and preparedness in Nepal.
Applications must to be submitted one month prior to the course date. The notification (email) will be sent 15 days before the course starts once the decision has been made.
One can apply for the scholarship by submitting scholarship application form from our website with Rs500 non-refundable application fee. The money collected from the submission will go directly to HM Scholarship fund for next eligible participant for next course.
HM scholarships are limited so participants are requested to apply as early as possible.
The discretion for decision making will rest totally on Himalayan Medics.

VIMFF Scholarship
On November 14th 2015, Rajesh Lama, Executive Director of Himalayan Medics represented Nepal at the Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival. Lama, as a guest speaker, talked about Nepal’s devastating earthquake, its effects, aftermath, what comes next for the outdoor industry and how safety standards and preparedness can be improved in Nepal.
As per Himalayan Medics dedication to work on improving the safety standards and preparedness level of Nepal, VIMFF Scholarship was created to support those Nepali outdoor professionals who show a great potential and dedication to wilderness safety and would be unable to attend the first responder courses without financial aid.
This scholarship has been made available by the kindness of Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival family to contribute to promoting the importance of improving safety standards and preparedness level in Nepal.
The First Scholarship Fund is open for NOLS WMI Wilderness First Responder Course, Feb 1st – 10th 2016 in Nepal.

As per Himalayan Medics dedication to work on improving the safety standards and preparedness level of Nepal, VIMFF Scholarship was created to support those Nepali outdoor professionals who show a great potential and dedication to wilderness safety and would be unable to attend the first responder courses without financial aid.

What’s your expectation about how much the scholarship will cover, and how are you planning to cover the rest? Getting full scholarship is rare but can be considered in exceptional cases.
